MORE ABOUT THIS RESORTVillage resort just 4km above Barcelonnette, in the heart of the Ubaye Valley, le Sauze/Super-Sauze has kept the naturally warm character of a mountain village.
In summer, the seven hamlets of the commune of Enchastrayes are places where life has stayed close to nature: time goes by here at the rhythm of the sun and the mountain has a Provencal feel.
In winter, the ski resort, the oldest in the Alpes de Haute-Provence since the first skilift was built there in 1934, offers all the pleasures of snow to skiers, riders and surfers. Le Sauze has always been a training-ground for champions, thirteen of its children have been in the French ski team, the most famous being Carole Merle who has one of the biggest number of awards in French skiing (6 World cups and 22 victories in the World cup, a World Champion title and silver medal in the Olympic Games in Albertville in 1992) ; and Christine Rossi who dominated with a title of World Champion, the gold medal in the Olympic Games in Calgary, 8 times European champion,2 World Cups and 21 victories in the world Cup.
Le Sauze/Super-Sauze is listed a « Station Verte de Vacances » and has the label « Famille Plus Montagne ».
